I remember when I first started my business eight years ago and nailing down my editing style was such a struggle. Achieving consistency in my images throughout wide varieties of lighting scenarios and producing a beautiful, timeless gallery of images for my clients was something I aspired to and often struggle with.

Regardless of if you are shooting a wedding, birth, senior photos, or family – your clients want to know that you can produce beautiful results for them too. Let’s be real – being in front of a camera is scary and most people are very nervous before getting photos professionally taken! I can’t tell you how many times my couples have told me, “We’re awkward in front of the camera!” I mean – SAME. But as a photographer, if you are constantly and consistently producing beautiful images with a plethora of different clients in different situations – this builds trust and ultimately leads to more bookings!!
People what to know that you can do for THEM what they’ve seen you do for other people. Yes, people are paying you to be creative and unique in your art. But they are also paying for you to produce the same beautiful results that they see in your work. If you can produce consistently edited images – this will have a massive impact on whether or not someone hires you.
Here’s the thing, I’m also a big believer that there’s no one stop shop method to editing images. If someone ever tells you that one click of a button will fix all of your editing issues – they are lying to you! There are so many elements that come together to create a beautiful photo.
