Twenty fourteen has been a whirlwind of a year in the most unexpected ways. Every year has it’s ups and downs – but this year has been chock full of things that I never anticipated! Courtney was one of those things. Through a set of circumstances that can only be chalked up as one of those incredible “God things”, Courtney and I connected and met for coffee early this spring – and 3 hours later we were well on our way to being the best of friends! Countless lunch dates, Starbucks, crazy emoticon filled texts, and weddings later, our friendship is something I treasure so dearly. I can’t imagine my life without this beautiful sister in Christ! So when she asked me to photograph her and her husband Dave – I was SO stoked. Beyond excited! It’s one thing to have a really rad couple to take photos of – but it’s a whole other thing when one of them is a photographer who knows the ins and outs of creating a perfect session! Courtney went ALL out for their session and it’s seriously one of my very favorite ones to date! We chatted all about their outfits and created Pinterest boards for inspiration – basically we were both totally stoked to see everything come together!! I am in loooove with her incredible maxi skirt and her beautiful hair and makeup that she had done! Isn’t she just a stunner?
I’ve had the immense pleasure of not only getting to know Courtney – but getting to know Courtney and Dave as a couple. When I second shoot with Courtney, Dave is our trusty bag holder, water bottle and granola bar runner, and chauffeur! And let me tell you – my wedding hangovers are way less intense without an aching back and shoulders, thank you very much! It’s so fun to see the way that Dave and Courtney love each other. Dave is Courtney’s calm and steady. He leads her in such a beautiful way and is a solid rock in the middle of any situation. Courtney is as sweet as they come and encourages and loves Dave like none other. Their relationship is so full of faithful, trusting love for each other and for the Lord. I am so incredibly blessed by both of them and it was SUCH an honor photographing this beautiful time of their lives! Dave and Courtney – I love you two so, SO much and I cannot wait to see where the Lord takes y’all over these next few years! Enjoy the crazy, beautiful stage of life you are in right now. Here’s to many more wedding days & future photoshoots!! :)
