I woke up to light streaming through the blinds, something I wasn’t used to experiencing. I sipped my coffee and spent some time in God’s Word; quiet, soul fulfilling moments. Those are my favorite. We headed out to church and woah– it was challenging, encouraging, and refreshing. Afterwards I dined on some delighful fried fish. I must say, I am not opposed to eating seafood like… extremely often. Oh the perks of vacationing near the ocean!
Then we went to the beeeeach! It is necessary to at extra E’s to that word in this context. I love the beach. It makes me crazy happy. My childhood memories are filled with sandy (sunburnt) beach memories. Searching for shells, running into the ocean, building sand castles, that’s how it’s done! Since moving to the good ole Midwest, the ocean has become a long-distance friend. We chat it up every couple of years, and our reunions are stellar. It’s fun to relive some of those memories through my younger siblings. Ella’s constant, “Jess, you have to see this!” and Dylan’s headlong runs straight into those crashing waves– it’s fun. I brought my camera to the beach the first day, thinking I would do so throughout the week. But I only took pictures on Sunday. I love capturing memories; life at it’s fullest. Yet sometimes it’s nice to just live. Not behind the camera, but in front of it. Enjoying those moments that are only remembered in your head.
Having lived in MO all my life (and preferring cold weather), I’ve never been that impressed with the ocean. But your photos give me a whole new appreciation for it! Great job! -Laurie
