I’m so blessed to be able to experience the fullness of this season that the Lord has me in. He is such a giver of good gifts! There is such beauty and freedom in this period of life. 2015 has already held 7 different plane rides and it’s only just the beginning. I’ve experienced a genuine Minnesota winter (and the necessity of UGG boots! not stylish, but oh so warm), mastered packing a carry on, and temporarily transplanted to the snowcapped mountains of Washington for the next month and a half. I crave the thrill of adventure and newness of traveling. Experiences are so much richer than things. Life is meant to be lived.
People’s lives can look very appealing and glamorous through an instagram filter. What you don’t see are the tears and late nights and the heart to hearts over coffee. The long road trips that include so many Jesus conversations and hashing out what the Lord has given us and praying and digging through life. Not every moment is amazing and that’s okay.
Good lord am I thankful for friends who love Jesus. I’m thankful for travel and for wedding planning and for wonderful couples. People ask me so often what the next year holds and I honestly don’t have a clue. The Lord has me in a evolving season of change and movement. I don’t know what the future holds. 2015 is so out of my control and I am so okay with that. Isaiah 22:23 says this, “And I will fasten him like a peg in a secure place.” This verse resonates so deeply within my soul because I’m reminded that the Lord’s plan for me is solid. With Jesus, I’m fastened like a peg in a SECURE place – even if He is taking and leading me new places.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” Isaiah 43:4
Life doesn’t need to be overwhelming or unknown. Life is always known when you KNOW the One who holds the future. Today’s season and purpose is to live life to the fullest. To do the things that may not seem practical and do go places that might seem crazy because following Jesus is always an adventure. So here’s to this year and whatever it has in store. I’m so excited to see where the Lord leads and am blessed that you are apart of this journey with me!
Much love,
Jessica Lauren

Ohhhh girl you are so full of good little pieces of wisdom! I LOVE that verse… I’m in a bit of an unpredictable place as well, and it’s just so reassuring to know that we’re rooted in Jesus, no matter which direction the breeze blows our branches :)
