Right now I feel like there are a million things running through my head. Most of them have to do with Haiti.
We are leaving in 4 days.
This time next week we will be beginning our work there.
Wow.
I’m really trying hard not to freak out… but seriously, all my stuff has to fit in that bag up there. Yeah. How in the world??
I’m really excited though. God’s is going to do some awesome work and there really aren’t words to express how elated I am to be apart of it! But I think my biggest fear is that I won’t be ready. That my heart and mind won’t be ready and cleared for God to use me. I don’t want to be a hindrance to what He is doing there.
Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work. So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. // 2 Timothy 2:21-22
I love these verses so very much. I want to be holy and useful, I want God to use me for every good work. This week I’m going to focus on pursuing the things of God. Righteousness, faith, love, and peace. Those are the things that ultimately matter. Whether or not I have clean clothes doesn’t really matter. Those people matter. Those people who have no hope without Christ, they are what this is all about. This is preparation week. It’s go time. :)
