Granola is one of my most favorite things ever. It’s the perfect combination of sweet and crunchy, and I don’t feel too guilty eating it as an afternoon snack. (or breakfast… or dessert) With that saying, I hadn’t ever found the perfect recipe. Turns out you don’t need one! I didn’t really measure anything, so if you think it needs just a little more (or less) of something, go for it! Make it your own. Enjoy!
Homemade Granola
3 cups of rolled oats
3/4 cup of slivered almonds
3/4 cup of chopped pecans
3/4 cup of coconut
3 tablespoons wheat germ
1/2 cup of brown sugar (more or less to taste)
1/2 cup of honey
1/3 cup of canola oil
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup of dried fruit
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. The granola should be slightly sticky and clumpy. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and press granola flat. Bake at 300 F until golden. Let cool, then break into small pieces and store in a sealed container.
