Let me be the first person to say that there is something absolutely incredible about turning your passion into a business. But let me also be the first person to say that when you turn your passion into a business – it can be easy to fall into the trap of your passion becoming ONLY a business, and no longer your passion.
When I first started shooting, I photographed anything and everything. Even the simplest of moments in my everyday life were documented. Now – for the most part – I pick up my camera solely for “work”. Which is the BIGGEST blessing! But I also have to be intentional to pick up my camera for solely creative purposes. And I’ve found that styled shoots are the perfect opportunity for that to take place for me!
I’ve been itching to put together a little something fun – so when it worked out somewhat last minute to pull this shoot together – I couldn’t have been more excited! Michael and Alex are some of the sweetest people and their love is just so genuine!! They couldn’t have been a more perfect couple – we seriously spent the whole time laughing together!
The only thing I was worried about with planning a shoot in August was that it was, indeed, August in the midwest. Which typically means 90-100 degrees and full humidity. But you guys – we seriously had THE most amazing weather. I’m taking maybe 80 degrees with almost no humidity. It was a miracle!! Everything about this shoot came together so perfectly, and it was the exact inspiration I needed. This just got me that much more excited about the fall busy season!!
A huge thank you to all of the amazing vendors that helped make this possible. These are some of my favorite people in St. Louis and it was such an honor to work alongside each and every one of them!
